Die Cast * Exoto 1/18 1966 Chaparral 2E Can Am Prototype - ETO RLG18160 - Exoto
A few short weeks after its debut, Hap Sharp would drive the 2/2C to victory at Riverside. The Los Angeles Times Grand Prix at Riverside was the biggest race of the year, and over the first 38 laps, the often underrated Sharp moved up from 4th to the head of the field. He drove a very deliberate race with Bruce McLaren in hot pursuit. This exquisite model is designed in 1:18 scale. It is over 9 inches long with a die-cast body parts, die-cast monocoque frame, and a superb 11 step paint finish. It is hand assembled from over 350 scaled precision parts. The removeable body panels set a new industry standard for fit and finish: beautiful, crisp vents in the shark fin fenders, seperate metal rear spoiler, hinges that are flush with the bodywork, genuine wire mesh, countless photo-etch and machined aluminum parts. Beneath the skin is miles of real metal wire, machined aluminum, fabric seat belts with photo-etch hardware, functioning steering and suspension, flexible brake cooling ducts, brake discs that turn within the calipers, and opening fuel filler caps. This Racing Legends replica is more than just a model, it's an intricate reproduction of the real thing!
