The B-26 was one of the most successful medium-range bombers of World War II. Decried initially as widow maker, it soon proved its high degree of reliability even under heavy flak during low-level flying. Flown for the first time in November 1940, the B-26 was not put into service until 1942 when it operated from Australian air base. In May 1943 it got its baptism under fire in Europe. Power plant: two P&W R-2800-43twin engines each delivering 2,000 hp. Payload 1814g of bombs. Kit features: Detailed cockpit, Two pilot figures, Slewing MG turret, 4 MGs at the front end, Detailed twin radial engines, Movable propellers, Landing gear retracted or let down, and Detailed transfers for two USAF versions. Model length 9.5 inches, wingspan 11.7 inches. Glue and paint are required, and are sold separately.
