Designed as an all-weather single seat fighter, the F-86D borrowed wings and landing gear from the F-86A/D/F day fighter, but had a different fuselage which was deeper and longer, necessitated by a larger engine with afterburner. Instead of guns, it sported a retractable tray containing 24 unguided rockets. The F-86D was constantly updated with modifications during its career, including external fuselage intakes. Starting with the block 45 production run, Dog Sabre vertical tail units were modified with a parachute housing. Many earlier-built F-86D's were later upgraded to include this modification. Features: recessed panel lines, rocket tray, pilot figure. Plastic cement and paint are required for assembly, and are sold separately.
