World War I was the war of gallant, dashing airmen, and the airplanes or crates they flew were colorful. The SPAD, however, was not only colorful but was also a very stable gun platform. Built by Societe pour Aviation at ses Derives in France, the SPAD became the fighter preferred by most of the French and American aces. The SPAD 13 was a tough, reliable fighter able to outdive nearly every other plane in the air. Wingspan 6.7 inches. Plastic cement and paint are required for assembly, and are sold separately.
