When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, the Grumman F4F Wildcat was the front line fighter in service. Although not as manueverable as the Japanese fighters, it was rugged and well armed. The F4F-4 version featured increased armament and folding wings, and it first saw combat at the Battle of Midway. Features: Detailed engine and landing gear, pilot figure, folding wings option, and positionable canopy. A Bert Kinzey book, covering all US Navy and Marine fighter aircraft used in WWII is included. Plastic cement and paint are required for assembly, and are sold separately.
