Apollo 14 Beta Cloth Patch - Collectibles
This Apollo 14 mission insignia was flown to lunar orbit by Lunar Module Pilot Edgar Mitchell. Printed on beta cloth, the same material used as the outer thermal layer on the Apollo spacesuits, the patch has also been inscribed by Mitchell... "This mission patch was flown to the Moon on Apollo 14. Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 LMP" The emblem was one of a few personal items carried by astronaut Edgar Mitchell in his Personal Preference Kit bag aboard the Command Module Kitty Hawk. Included with this historic artifact is a certificate of authenticy, which consists of a letter typed on personal stationary and hand signed by Edgar Mitchell. The letter provides a detailed description and history of the flown patch, and also provides an elegant summary of the Apollo 14 mission.
