Mercury 6 40th Anniversary Polo Shirt - Collectibles
February 20, 1962, John Glenn made history as America's first astronaut to orbit the earth. In 1998, Glenn made history once again when he flew on Space Shuttle mission STS-95, becoming the oldest person to fly to space. We are proud to offer our special embroidered logo commemorating the 40th anniversary of John Glenn's Mercury 6 mission. The logo is based on the Mercury 6 patch that NASA issued after the Mercury program. (NASA did not start issuing "official" mission patches until the Gemini program.) The logo is stitched to a pique polo shirt by Inner Harbor (TM) which features premium-weight 100% combed cotton pique mesh, single-lock knit fashion collar, two pearl buttons on placket, and banded sleeves.
