Cooley High - Action/Adventure
In this black AMERICAN GRAFFITI (which is also the inspiration for TV's What's Happening?) two high school boys in 1964 Chicago have various coming-of-age adventures, including getting into trouble with the law after innocently taking a joy ride with neighborhood pals who stole the vehicle. A great cast lead by Turman and Hilton-Jacobs as well as a vintage Motown soundtrack make this overlooked gem worth rediscovering.
