REMEMBER THE TITANS tells the true story of Herman Boone (Denzel Washington), an African American football coach who led a racially divided high school team, the Titans, to victory in 1971 Alexandria, Virginia. Boone overcame racial prejudices and bigotry among his team and other coaches, teaching players respect, dedication, and strength. He was therefore a huge inspiration and role model to the team, and made a great impact on the small, closed-minded southern community.
