The 15W3 also marks the debut of JL AUDIO's new VRC+ Technology. Like the original VRC System, this design uses a vented reinforcement collar for the joint between the cone, spider and voice coil former. In the 15W3 (and 18W3), this cooling system is enhanced with a radially cross-vented machined pole piece for incredible thermal performance. This thermal stability, combined with the 15W3's massive excursion potential make this speaker a natural for high SPL applications as well as the most critical sound quality applications. Works extremely well in sealed and ported enclosures and its dual voice coil design gives the user a high degree of application flexibility.
