The motor structure found in each Reference model is longer than that found on competing models. This longer motor structure uses a longer voice coil and taller surround. The result is longer X-max which delivers more bass output.

Edge-driven textile-dome tweeters - These are not commonly used w-domes, but full edge-driven domes like those found in better home audio speakers. The benefit of this increased voice coil size is increased power handling and reduced distortion at high output levels. This technology also allows for better integration with the mid/woofer.

Unipivot - To ensure proper imaging, the 6002i utilizes a patented rotating tweeter (patent no. 6,002,780). So even if the speaker is mounted down low by your leg, the soundstage can be brought up to your dash.
