The StarTech.com UTP Console Extender provides convenient and remote access to a computer located up to 150 m (500 ft.) away from a keyboard, monitor, and mouse. Your main system box can be placed in a safe and secure location away from where you need to access it. It consists of a local unit and remote unit which are connected over long distances using standard Ethernet network patch cable. Applications/Solutions: Extends keyboard, monitor, and mouse cables by up to 150 m (500 ft.) Features: Consists of 1 Local unit for the local display, and 1 Remote unit for the remote display. Uses standard Category 5 straight-through wired UTP patch cable. Two consoles can be connected to share control of a PC (1 local, 1 remote). High quality video resolution of up to 1024x768 Supports VGA, SVGA, and Multisync monitors Include AC power adapters for both remote and base units, and auxillary cables for keyboard, mouse, and monitor connections. Category 5 UTP or STP patch cable with RJ-45 connectors is also required (not included).
