In “Adventure at Sun Rock Ranch,” Missy, a fashionable, articulate thirteen-year-old, embraces the beauty of the wilderness and the quaintness of ranch life while on vacation with her parents and her friend, Anita. Unfortunately for Missy, the bliss is cut short when she accidentally leaves a gate unlocked and a small calf escapes into the thick brush and canyons that surrounds the acreage. Taking her usual control of the situation, Missy convinces herself and Anita to venture out on their own to bring the calf back, leading the girls to becoming lost in the nighttime wilderness. After being found by one of the ranch hands and spending what becomes an adventurous evening in the untamed outdoors, Missy and Anita are able to return the calf to its mother and bring home their experiences to their friends.
