Kerman from the Gemini Collection 4' x 6' Area Rug -
Isolated in southern Persia by the virtually impassable saline Great Desert on its norther limits, Kerman was not subject to the repeated invasions of marouding conquerers as were the weaving districts nearer the Caspian Sea. As such, Kerman developed its own distinctive patterns born from the local artist colony of textile and jewelry producers. The medallion is perfectly balanced by four reflecting corners. Subtle color changes throughout the rug create interest as did the natural dyes of so many generations ago.
